About Jane Rosier

Jane in the NutcrackerJane Rosier lives and breathes creativity. Formerly a first soloist with Sadlers Wells Royal Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet (BRB), Jane retired from her ballet career in 1994 after 13 successful years. She retrained as a Scenic Artist at the Central School of Speech & Drama in Swiss Cottage, North London, graduating in 1996. Today she works as a freelance artist living and working in Kings Norton, Birmingham with her husband and two children. She specialises in seascapes and portraiture.

Jane’s passion for seascapes simply stems from her passion for the sea! The sea stirs the emotions. There’s something wild and expansive about far reaching sweeps of desert-like sand; there’s something humbling and awe-inspiring about the unrelenting power of crashing waves; there’s something comforting about the ageless immovability of cliffs and rocks! Jane’s vision is to capture these emotions in her work, bringing that sense of majesty mixed with humility.

Jane also loves portraiture, born out of her infectious enthusiasm for people. Get to meet her, and you’ll instantly receive warmth and interest! She just loves life and people! In 2005, she entered an ITV portrait competition. It was a fun-filled adventure involving ‘pressure-painting’ - creating portraits of celebrities in just 3 hours. Jane won the Birmingham regional heat with a characterful interpretation of Anthony Worrall-Thompson! This unusual adventure spawned further interest in her portraiture, and she has since produced many commissioned pieces.

Jane Rosier In conclusion, Jane is passionate about art and performing arts, but she is also passionate about people! She is driven by a desire to see people richly blessed by the pieces she produces, and the performances she is involved with. She throws herself wholeheartedly into all her work in order to give people her best!
